The HP NA Commercial Marketing Operations team is seeking an experienced Senior Marketing professional to assist with management of field marketing events, help lead our virtual and live events strategy and use best in class virtual event platforms and, in-person event best practices to support customer acquisition and growth for North America (NA) Enterprise Personal Systems and commercial Print business.
The Senior Events Manager is responsible for the planning, execution, and management of NA Commercial HP led events. This position works closely with NA commercial marketing campaign managers, Sales, numerous internal stakeholders, and external agencies to plan and execute NA strategic events. The ideal candidate will have experience with events, particularly with events agency management and, budget management including the understanding of a large company like HP with integrated and matrixed business structure among marketing, business units and sales.
Candidate must be able to work independently, prioritize assignments, and work under pressure. Strategic events are time sensitive, involving frequent concurrent deadlines with dependencies on speakers, agencies, and campaign managers. Essential for this role is fantastic program management skills using Smartsheet, sharepoint, and internal HP program management tools. Therefore, collaboration, attention to detail and the ability to communicate clearly with all levels of HP leadership is critical to keep programs moving effectively and efficiently. You will also manage operational logistics including budget, marketing asset creation/refresh, event tracker and monthly reporting.
This role will promote an eagerness to develop and implement new processes for improving effectiveness and impact in event planning and logistics as well as push the boundaries on engaging event experiences that amaze our customers, partners, and employees.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesManages HP led virtual events and will also manage live events when person to person events are approved in the future. Manage and assign ownership to region field marketing events and direct mail for Pan-HP commercial marketing. Manage event strategy which includes development of all event processes. Execute marketing led and sales driven events for commercial print and business PCs which includes event run of show, speaker coordination, vendor selection and communications to senior leaders within Marketing and Sales organizations. Coordinate direct mail programs that are tightly integrated within your marketing campaigns and events ownership in the team. Ensure the efficient and successful execution of all events working closely with Marketing Managers, Sales, and key HP Stakeholders. Manage all aspects of events including but not limited to internal consulting, concept proposal development, vendor negotiation, contract administration (including external speakers), content development reviews, expense monitoring and budgeting, website development, coordination of speakers, and giveaways Obtain invoices to track against budgets Gather tracking IDs as needed in the event campaign workflow for reporting and claiming purposes Work with Audience Manager and Campaign Manager to confirm lead management follow-through with Sales, telemarketing routing, etc… Assists to gather event insights from Reporting team and working closely with field marketing and operation leaders.
SkillsFluent written and spoken English. Self-starter, able to work fully remotely and collaborate with team members globally. 2+ years of working with CRM like Salesforce.com, MS Dynamics. 2+ years of working with Eloqua, Marketo, or similar marketing automation platform, is preferred. 2+ years of working with marketing campaigns in a B2B environment. Account Based marketing experience preferred. Direct Mail execution experiences is a plus. Digitally savvy, with problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. Strong ability to organize, analyse, interpret, and disseminate information. Ability to work under pressure and change direction as needed. Ability to make decisions, prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Senior marketing expert with bachelor's degree and event management expertise Excellent communication skills Proficient with Microsoft tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, TEAMS, etc.) Process-oriented, with high attention to detail Budget management and reporting a plus Ability to multi-task and adapt quickly to change
Bachelor’s degree or master’s in Communications/Marketing/Business/ or like degree.
Minimum of 2 to 5 years work experience working with live events or virtual events, ideally as an Event Planner, manager, Virtual Events producer.
