Marketing Lab is the career growth and learning experience for our HP Global, Market and Centers of Excellence Marketing Team. We produce, create content and curate programs to help Marketers learn and grow in the flow of work.
As HP Marketing Lab Manager, you will lead and develop Marketing’s ‘school of talent’ by:Driving Marketing Lab’s strategy that accelerates the learning and career development of Marketers through a structured framework of tracks, skillsets and skills that deliver on our Marketing values and capabilities. Developing a strategy and plan to equip marketers to understand how to tell great stories, be data-based, drive business growth and see obstacles as opportunities. Influencing and aligning HP development experiences for the entire organization through collaboration with HP’s Marketing HR, People Development, Office of the CMO and external partners, like Reforge, STUKENT, Aspen/LEAP that deliver complimentary or supplementary experiences to HP’s Marketing org. Delivering design thinking and empathy to deliver impactful learning and growth experiences for Global Marketers, Market Marketers and Centers of Excellence Marketing specialists. Being curious about trends in the market, leading edge approaches, and continuously researching the external landscape for innovative approaches to learning, Marketing learning, and career development. Leading and supervising a team towards a common objective while coaching, mentoring, and helping them grow to contribute to Marketing Lab and Marketing’s success. Creating data driven insights to measure the success of your investments and Marketing Lab program goals.
Teaming and Leading for Results:You will have access to a group of bright and collaborative peers across Global and Market Marketing and Centers of Excellence Specialists to understand what’s needed, what’s next and how the Marketing Lab vision and mission are performing. You will need to be able to influence key executive and leadership individuals to input, co-own and support implementation Marketing Lab’s key ideas and overall engagement of the learning/career growth experience. Collaborates with HP’s People Development team to integrate and connect our Marketing Lab needs and work inside a broad and robust learning ecosystem for HPers. Works collaboratively with the Office of the CMO, Employee Engagement and the Marketing Digital Transformation Team to create initiatives that fits within the vision and mission of our Global team. Produces and directs work with both inside, HP Studio, and outside agencies for learning experiences and content creation needs. Supervises the creation and deployment of a monthly editorial calendar to organize and communicate Marketing Lab’s learning topics against the value of our learning and career growth portfolio to targeted groups. This includes the production of Marketing Lab TV’s Career Compass sessions with outside and inside featured speakers. Reports into the Head Marketing Strategic Planning, Operations, Digital Enablement and Office of the CMO.
CompetenciesPassion for People and Learning and Career Development: The successful candidate will have the ability to grow and amplify the current and future state of the end-to-end learning and career Development program for other people as well as focus on managing a diverse and inclusive team for best thinking and great results. Marketing Experience: This person will have Marketing experience, insights and understand of how Marketers work in today’s digital world to guide well and plan key learning and growth ideas and the overall Marketing Lab capabilities program. Results-Driven: The successful candidate will understand that that the efforts they make to create, curate, structure, plan, and improve the current learning and career development program will need more data-driven and results oriented (qual and quant) proof points that the content, programs and expeirences delivered are working to achieve Marketing’s school of talent goals. Collaborative: The successful candidate will have experience collaborating across a matrix as part of driving best thinking and delivering best practices for the tracks, skillsets and skills Marketing needs to be more capable and valuable inside and outside HP.
Skills and QualificationsMarketing and Learning and Development experience (at least 10 years), preferably accumulated across a variety of prior Marketing, HR/People, Training, Learning and Development roles and assignments. Designed, curated, and delivered impactful learning experiences aligned to business needs. Experienced in creating opportunity by working across businesses and a variety of project leaders where building credibility, establishing yourself as a trusted partner and advisor, and having a bias for action and execution have been a strong result of how you work. Solved problems thoughtfully and effectively with strong judgement and a creative edge. Excellence in program thinking, creative production, project managing and delivering complex learning solutions for and with other teams, both internal and external. Strong leadership, communication, change management skills.
